Martin Koelman is a seasoned geophysicist and entrepreneur with over 15 years of experience in the offshore marine industry, specializing in geophysical data acquisition, interpretation, and ground modeling for subsea infrastructure projects. As Director and Owner of League Geophysics, based in Amsterdam, Martin has played a pivotal role in supporting offshore wind, hydrogen, and cable detection initiatives, providing expert consultancy and high-end data processing services for clients engaged in anchoring, piling, and cable laying operations. His work emphasizes the integration of geophysical, geotechnical, and hydrographic data to optimize foundation siting, cable routing, and risk mitigation, including the mapping of unexploded ordnance (UXO) hazards.
In addition to his leadership at League Geophysics, Martin serves as Head of Business Development at Seekable, a technology-driven startup focused on the detection and protection of submarine cables and pipelines using advanced acoustic and electromagnetic sensing solutions. Under his guidance, Seekable has developed autonomous systems capable of high-speed, automatic cable tracking and comprehensive UXO detection, contributing to the security and reliability of Europe’s underwater infrastructure.
