WINDFORCE Baltic Sea 2025

19 - 20 Februray 2025, Lolland Falster | Denmark

Dear ladies and gentlemen,
On behalf of WAB e.V., I would like to welcome you to the WINDFORCE Baltic Sea Conference on February 19 and 20, 2025 in Maribo, Lolland/Falster Denmark. After successful conferences in Denmark, Germany, Estonia, Finland, Poland and Sweden, it is a great pleasure for us to be guests at Lolland-Falster in Denmark this year. For this conference we were able to win the German-Danish Chamber of Commerce and Femern Belt Development as cooperation partners. Germany and Denmark play a leading role in the expansion of offshore wind energy. The expansion targets of the European Union, Germany and Denmark are very ambitious. The European Union (EU) wants to become climate-neutral by 2050. This can only be achieved with a massive expansion of renewable energies. On October 31, 2024, the Danish Energy Agency (Energistyrelsen) issued the construction permit for the Thor offshore wind farm with a capacity of around 1.1 GW. Denmark plans to increase its offshore wind power capacity from the current 2.5 GW to 9 GW by the end of the decade. Germany currently operates offshore wind farms with over 8 gigawatts, including around 1.1 gigawatts in the Baltic Sea. At least 30 GW are to be installed by 2030. The event offers an overview of current projects and developments in the German-Danish Baltic Sea region with the tried and tested mixture of excursion and conference. Cooperation and the topic of technology transfer will play an important role in the future. That is why we have put this topic on the agenda. Experiences and further developments will be presented and discussed on the topics of service and maintenance. Dismantling and recycling - in other words, the circular economy - is becoming more and more of a focus and is becoming a new, expanded area of business. I look forward to the companies presenting their experiences and solutions in these fields. Thank you very much for your participation and support.
We are looking forward to two inspiring days full of information, discussions and many new insights and contacts.

Markus Nölke, Managing Director WAB e.V.

The conference was opened by Christian Meyer, Lower Saxony's Minister for the Environment, Energy and Climate Protection and Ines Jesse, State Secretary for Economics, Infrastructure, Tourism and Labor of the State of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern.

The WINDFORCE dinner is always a highlight. It offers delegates and speakers a wonderful place to make new contacts and discuss topics in depth in a special atmosphere. Dennis Kruse, Deputy Chairman of the WAB Board and Andree Iffländer, Chairman of the WindEnergy Network e.V., will open the dinner.
