Alexander Klein joined KfW Bankengruppe in 2007 and worked in the economics department of KfW Bankengruppe until 2011, focusing on infrastructure and sustainability, among other things.

From 2011 to 2015, he worked in KfW’s corporate strategy department as a senior consultant in various strategy projects, such as the first formulation of a KfW Group strategy or the organizational and strategic realignment of the domestic promotional business.

From 2016 to 2021, Alexander Klein headed the staff and strategy team for the KfW’s Executive Board Member of domestic promotion. In this role, he was responsible for several strategic projects and also acted as a personal advisor to the KfW’s Executive Board Member of domestic promotion.

Since May 2021, Alexander Klein has headed the “Product Development and Product Management of Commercial Environmental and Climate Products” team and is therefore responsible for a large part of the product portfolio for SMEs and industry in the area of climate and environmental protection. This includes KfW’s programs to promote renewable energies, the green transformation of SMEs and industry as well as environmental protection in companies.

Alexander Klein studied Economics, Political Science, Geography, and History and worked at the Institute of Economics, in particular economic theory, at Goethe University in Frankfurt.
