Dr Eva Schmid is head of the Hydrogen and Synthetic Energy Carriers working area in the Future of Energy Supply division of the German Energy Agency.
With the three teams “Hydrogen Technologies and Value Chains”, “Hydrogen Markets and Regulation” and “Hydrogen Dialogue and System Integration”, the department supports the German government in particular in implementing the National Hydrogen Strategy as part of the energy transition.
Dr Eva Schmid holds a doctorate from TU Berlin and an M.Sc. in Econometrics and Operations Research, as well as a B.Sc. in International Business from Maastricht University.
Before joining dena, she was Team Leader German and European Energy Policy at the civil society organisation Germanwatch and a researcher at the Potsdam Institute for Climate Impact Research in the Energy Strategies Europe and Germany team as a postdoc and in the Sustainable Solutions Strategies team as a PhD student.
After 15 years of work experience in research and implementation of the energy transition, Dr Eva Schmid has developed a professional background in energy system modelling, participatory energy and climate protection scenarios, electricity grid charging systems, the implementation of social change processes, participation processes and social acceptance for the energy transition.
She is currently expanding her professional specialisation to include the topic of space-based solutions for the energy transition.
