Kompetenzfeldleiter SynFuels / Head of competence field SynFuels

Fabian Klein is a chemical engineer and holds a Master’s degree from Bremerhaven University of Applied Sciences.

Since 2020, he has been working on and acquiring various projects in the field of hydrogen and hydrogen derivatives.

This includes the “e-fuels” sub-project led by Mr. Klein as part of the “Green Gas for Bremerhaven” project. The aim of this project was to set up a laboratory plant for CO2 methanization and to carry out experimental studies on optimal process parameters.

Other projects currently led by Mr. Klein are the research project “Preparation for industrial SNG production”, in which the overall situation for methanization is being optimized and scaled, and the “MariSynFuel” research project, which aims to produce green methanol and map the entire infrastructure.

Mr. Klein has found his research focus in catalyst screening and catalyst development.

Mr. Klein has established the area of catalyst research and is building the necessary infrastructure as part of a hydrogen pilot plant.

Since March 2023, he has also headed the SynFuels competence field (synthetic fuels produced from hydrogen).
