Dr Kathrin Ballerstein is a manager in the energy transmission industry.

She has more than 10 years of experience in the energy industry, with a focus on European electricity market integration and energy transmission.

After completing her PhD in Mathematics at ETH Zurich in 2012, she held various positions at TenneT.

In 2023, Dr. Kathrin Ballerstein was appointed Director Energy System Planning at TenneT TSO GmbH, where she is responsible for system vision, grid planning and technical design in the Netherlands and Germany.

In particular, this includes grid studies such as the grid development plan and the conceptual development of the energy system.
