Dr. Carmen Schneider is a lawyer and partner with Chatham Partners LLP in Hamburg. She studied law in Gießen and Bonn and obtained her doctorate in the field of energy law after a research period at Centre de Recherche en Economie et Droit de l’Energie in Montpellier.

Carmen advises market participants on all aspects of energy law. She focuses on project development (in particular onshore and offshore wind, solar, decentralised generation models and energy storage solutions), energy contract law, regulatory and energy trading. She also advises on M&A transactions and represents her clients before courts and arbitration tribunals.
