David Baumgaertner is part of the Offshore Logistics Group at Fraunhofer IWES. He has a PhD from the University of Cambridge,
where his research focused on the aerodynamics of ORC turbines used for low-CO2 electricity generation.
Prior to his PhD, he studied mechanical engineering at ETH Zurich, specialising in renewable energy technologies.
At Fraunhofer IWES, his work now focuses on modelling complex offshore systems.
