Jon Hansen has served the Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs since 2002. He started his position as Minister Counselor at the Royal Norwegian Embassy in Berlin in 2019. Prior to this, he served in Kosovo and Bosnia-Hercegovina, working with investments and aid-projects in the Western Balkans. He has extensive experience with energy and climate policy from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, as well as business development and Norwegian profiling and reputation.

Prior to the Norwegian Foreign Service, he worked for the Norwegian Seafood Council in Hamburg, responsible for German-speaking markets. He has also served as Sales and Marketing Manager and Director for respectively the Norwegian Airline Widerøe and ABB Datakabel AS/ ABB Norsk Kabel.
