Offshore-Windfarm Emergency Rescue & Response Vessel (OWF-ERRV)
March 5, 2015 1:28 pmBugsier, a Hamburg based salvage tug operator In cooperation with Fassmer, shipyard in Berne at the Weser river, has developed an „Emergency Rescue & Response Vessel (ERRV)“ for the special requirements in offshore wind farms. This ERRV is suitable in offshore wind farms for several purposes e. g.
– long range sea surveillance,
– evacuation of platforms or wind turbines,
– fighting against platform fires,
– combatting against oil spills caused by platforms or wind turbines,
– rescue towing of distressed vessels drifting towards wind farms or export cables.
A helicopter landing area on the forecastle of the vessel simplifies the embarkation of operational personnel or the handling of survivors when heli-pads on the windfarm’s platform have failed. Due to its high free running speed and severe weather capability, the ERRV is able to cover multiple wind farms including their export cables and saving money.
The presentation will inform about (optional) safety tasks of this ERRV, its wind farm specific characteristics of vessel and crew as well as its differences in comparison to existing ERRVs deployed in oil & gas or other guard duties.
