Hans-Josef Fell

President, Energy Watch Group, and Co-Author of Germany’s Renewable Energy Act EEG

Hans-Josef Fell was a member of the German Bundestag from 1998 to 2013. During this time he authored the draft of the Renewable Energy Sources Act (EEG), which was adopted in 2000 in the face of strong political opposition.

As founder and president of the Energy Watch Group, Hans-Josef Fell is actively promoting 100% renewable energy worldwide and is providing political advice to many parliaments and governments on the transition to an energy system based entirely on renewables as well as on climate protection. The Energy Watch Group is an independent, non-profit, non-partisan global network of scientists and parliamentarians. Together with his organisation, Hans-Josef Fell analyses global energy developments in the energy sector and commissions independent studies on energy.
