Hendrik Köhler works as an electrical engineer for HVDC technology at Amprion, one of the four German transmission system operators, in Dortmund. Accompanying his involvement into the planning of Amprion’s first 2 GW offshore grid connection systems, he works with his team colleagues on solutions for an efficient grid integration of offshore wind energy. Prior to that, Hendrik was active as a research assistant at RWTH Aachen University, as part of which he conducted several research as well as industrial projects in the field of DC protection and control technology, while he was also engaged in teaching. He holds a Master of Science from RWTH Aachen University and spent as part of that an academic year at the NTNU in Norway.
