Program Engineer – AquaVentus Coordination Office
Sebastian Föllner is a program engineer of the AquaVentus Coordination Office. Joining AquaVentus in April 2021, Sebastian is responsible for the technical interface and knowledge management of the office‘s activities within the TransHyDE and H2Mare research projects. From 2015 until 2021, he was a research associate at the chair of turbomachinery of the University of Duisburg-Essen. In his research area on aerodynamic design methods for multistage gas turbines, he developed a new throughflow approach that considers various blade cooling methods and improves the design process over a wide operational range. Sebastian holds a M.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering from the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology. In 2014, he conducted is Master Thesis about the loss behaviour of stationary gas turbines under transonic flow conditions at Siemens Energy AG in Berlin. He spends his free time with his wife and two children.
