General Terms and Conditions

General Terms and Conditions for WINDFORCE 2023

By registering for the event, you confirm that you have read the following ‘General Terms and Conditions’ and agree; this also applies to any ‘Special Conditions’ that are made known to the participant or registrant for certain events.

The WINDFORCE 2023 will be executed by Offshore Wind Messe und Veranstaltungs GmbH and organized by WAB e.V.

1. Registration

Registration for an event is in any case to be done in written form, whether through an online form, an email, or a fax to WAB. Registrations will be generally accepted in the order they are received by WAB; however, this does not affect separate selection processes for certain events. If a registration cannot be accepted, WAB will notify the person(s) interested in registering in good time before the event begins.

The conference fees include buffet lunches and refreshments during breaks, conference documents, participation in the excursions and an online access to the presentations and the Conference Dinner at WINDFORCE.

The number of participants for the events and its parts is limited and registrations will be processed in the order in which Offshore Wind Messe und Veranstaltungs GmbH and WAB e.V. receive them.

The participant´s name will appear on the official list of participants if registering before the end of the registration period. Later bookings or changes cannot be accommodated on the official list of participants.

Registrations can only be made for whole conference days. The booking of single sessions or presentations is not possible.

 

2. Special Conditions

Registration as Student

To register as a student and to benefit from the special student fees, you need to document your status as a student by uploading your enrollment certificate or student identification card. The conference fee for students includes participation on 12. till 14. June 2023 with buffet lunch, refreshments during breaks, conference documents, and online access to the presentations.

Participation in the WINDFORCE Conference Dinner is included, and can be booked for 100,00 € for an accompanying person.

Registration as Start-up

The start-up package includes

  • Participation in both conference days
  • Buffet lunches and refreshment breaks as well as the Conference Dinner
  • Conference documents and online access to the presentations
  • Free one-year trial membership at WAB

Please note that the number of available start-up packages is limited to 20 and registrations will be processed in the order in which Offshore Wind Messe und Veranstaltungs GmbH and WAB e.V. receive them. A legal claim to these conditions does not exist.

 

3. Terms of Payment

Payment is due upon confirmation of registration, unless other terms of payment are agreed. Should the invoice specify another payment date, this date is valid. In case of late payment, Offshore Wind Messe und Veranstaltungs GmbH and WAB e.V. may exclude the participant from joining the event. Payments must be independent of third-party services (such as subsidies or grants).

The participation fee will be charged on behalf of the executer: Offshore Wind Messe und Veranstaltungs GmbH, Barkhausenstraße 4, 27568 Bremerhaven, GERMANY.

Participants are allowed to name a replacement for whole days. Any booking transfers after receiving the invoice will result in an administration fee of EUR 30.

Documents and papers will be distributed upon receipt of full payment. Lost or unused documents will not be refunded or replaced.

 

4. Cancellation and termination

In case of cancellation after the end of the early bird registration period (28. February 2023), 30 percent of the relevant conference fee will be charged; for cancellation after this date, the full fee will be charged. The effective date of the cancellation is the date on which it is received by WAB e.V. If the written cancellation is not received within the period prescribed, the contract partner is in any case obliged to pay the full fee. Participants are allowed to name a replacement person for whole days. If a participant does not attend individual parts of the event, he/she is not entitled to a reduction in the fee. The right of termination for good cause will remain unchanged. Offshore Wind Messe und Veranstaltungs GmbH and WAB

e.V. reserve the right to cancel the event for important reasons (such as failure to achieve the necessary number of participants). In this case, the participation fee already paid will be refunded in full.

 

5. Cancellation of events

Offshore Wind Messe und Veranstaltungs GmbH and WAB e.V. reserve the right to cancel events, in particular when registrations are insufficient. In this case, any fees already paid will be refunded in accordance with Section 3 of these General Terms and Conditions. Any further claims for damages are excluded. This also applies to a cancellation at short notice or an event cancellation, even without prior notice to participants should that no longer be possible.

 

6. Replacement of lecturers / speakers

If it does not significantly affect the overall format of the event, replacement of lecturers/speakers or modification of the programme’s schedule will not entitle a participant to withdraw from the contract or pay a reduced fee. The options for termination for good cause will remain unchanged.

 

7. Exclusion from participation

Offshore Wind Messe und Veranstaltungs GmbH and WAB e.V. reserve the right to exclude participants from further participation in special cases (for instance, if payment is delayed or if a person disrupts the event and its programme). In such event, participants shall not be entitled to full or partial reimbursement of the participation fees or any other costs.

 

8. Liability

Offshore Wind Messe und Veranstaltungs GmbH and WAB e.V. and the owners of conference and event rooms, and the persons authorised by them, will not be liable for damages, in particular for those resulting from accidents, damage, loss or theft, unless the damage results from the wilful misconduct or gross negligence of Offshore Wind Messe und Veranstaltungs GmbH and WAB e.V. or its agents.

 

9. Data privacy

Personal details made available to Offshore Wind Messe und Veranstaltungs GmbH und WAB e.V. in connection with bookings are processed electronically and are used exclusively for processing the booking and for customer service purposes. By registering, the participant agrees that his/her personal data will be stored by Offshore Wind Messe und Veranstaltungs GmbH and WAB e.V. Your data will not be disclosed to third parties. Your attention is expressly drawn to the data subject’s right of objection pursuant to section 28 (4) of the German Data Protection Act.

 

10. Copyright of photos or films

On registering to attend the conference the participant automatically grants WAB e.V. and Offshore Wind Messe und Veranstaltungs GmbH – and with their agreement also press and TV teams – his/her permission to create photo and video material of the conference and its participants. The material may be used free of charge for marketing and communication purposes by WAB e.V. and Offshore Wind Messe und Veranstaltungs GmbH, in consideration of the Law on Copyright and neighbouring rights in arts.

 

11. Additional agreements

Additional agreements are not binding unless they have been confirmed in writing. If a third party enters the contract, he/she and the original registrant together are liable as joint debtors for the invoiced amount and for rebooking fees.

 

12. Legal basis

The law of the district court (Amtsgericht) Bremen shall solely apply, i.e. excluding the Uniform UN Purchase Law CISG. The exclusive place of jurisdiction is the City of Bremerhaven. The place of performance is the City of Bremerhaven. In all other respects, the statutory regulations apply.
